Atidje Aliyeva-Veli: Small and medium-sized enterprises should be at the center of the European Green Deal and the Recovery Plan

“The creation of a favorable environment and more opportunities for financing small and medium-sized enterprises /SMEs/should be included in the European Green Pact and the Recovery Plan". This was stated by MEP from DPS/Renew Europe Atije Aliyeva-Veli in his speech regarding the New Strategy for European SMEs.
The Bulgarian MEP, a member of the Committee on Employment and Social Affairs, defined the presented report on the New Strategy for SMEs as "the fruit of the good work of various committees and political groups, clearly reporting the position of the EP on the importance of the Strategy“.
Atige Aliyeva-Veli pointed out that the economic shock caused by the COVID-19 has had a detrimental effect on a significant number of micro, small and medium-sized enterprises, and they are in urgent need of expanding financing opportunities, as well as appropriate and targeted measures.
„I believe that the New Strategy should also put emphasis on digital skills, strengthening vocational training, lifelong learning, qualifications and retraining. Small and medium-sized enterprises should be at the center of the European Green Deal and the Recovery Plan and should be supported with adapted financial instruments and a favorable legislative environment. In this process, it is important to guarantee workers' rights, social, health standards, as well as environmental protection," she added.
