Commission on Agriculture and Rural Development (AGRI)
The Commission for Agriculture and Rural Development (AGRI) is an important player in shaping the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) as well as animal health and welfare policies, plant health, agricultural product quality, forestry agriculture and agroforestry of the Union. Most of this work is done by preparing reports on legislative proposals falling under the co-decision procedure of the Parliament and the Council to be adopted in plenary.
In addition to carrying out legislative activities, the commission also monitors the implementation of the adopted legislation. In this regard, it cooperates closely with the Commission, the Council, other EU institutions and stakeholders.
