Atidje Aliyeva-Veli: Provision of broadband Internet in rural areas is a mandatory condition for the education of the elderly

MEP Atige Aliyeva-Veli took part in a webinar on "Creating opportunities for older people through lifelong learning", organized by her colleague Radka Maksova from the "Renew Europe" group.

„Modern times show us that the acquisition of new skills and knowledge is equally important for both the young and the elderly," the Bulgarian MEP pointed out.

Here are highlights from Atidje Aliyeva-Veli's performance:

– Providing effective and appropriate lifelong learning, qualifications and re-qualifications according to age and needs;

– Developing training strategies together with business and strengthening the link between training and the labor market;

– The acquisition of modern skills in the light of the green transition;

– Digital technologies in our daily lives and how older people can benefit from them. The MEP drew attention to the mandatory condition related to provision of broadband Internet in rural areas;

– The synergy between the various programs and policies is important for the effective use of the financial instruments of the European Union.
